NOVOTEL AMBASSADOR SEOUL DONGDAEMUN
Residences
Inch LED TVs
The Novotel Ambassador Seoul Dongdaemun in central Seoul, is a mid-sized hotel of 331 guestrooms and 192 residences. Spacious and contemporary, it features large 55″ LED TVs in all its rooms.
Additionally, content subscriptions are booming in South Korea, with more than 10 million domestic video-on-demand subscribers and of course, millions more overseas. Recognizing that their guests would have a happier stay and be more likely to return if they can watch what they want, when they want, hotel management chose to prioritize guest-focused TV casting to attract travelers and encourage loyalty.
CHALLENGE
- Let guests watch their own entertainment and media apps on the in-room TV.
- Upgrade the hotel’s previous streaming devices.
- Provide flexibility so guests can use their devices for other tasks while streaming.
Solution
Local Nomadix partner, Cheongdam Network, who supplies Nomadix equipment in 45 hotels across South Korea, installed Nomadix Casting in the hotel’s standard and premium suites.
To easily watch the same content on the hotel TV as easily as they would at home, guests log on effortlessly without having to remember passwords or log onto a public device, for a simple, secure and seamless experience.
Other solutions on the market ask guests to use the remote to choose from the limited apps available on the hotel TV, and then slowly click each letter and number to enter their usernames and passwords for each app used. Then guests need to trust that the hotel will remove these credentials after they leave the property.
Branded to the Novotel, guests simply pair their mobiles, tablets, and laptops with the in-room TV either by scanning a QR code or by entering a URL once connected to the hotel Wi-Fi. Once paired, Nomadix Casting lets guests securely stream their preferred content, with logging into these apps again, all without coming into content with germy TV remotes.
With thousands of options, they aren’t limited to the choices offered by other types of casting or streaming solutions. And, unlike content mirroring, travelers can also use their laptops or mobiles while their favorite series plays.
“We know that our guests will have a happier stay and be more likely to return if they can watch what they want, when they want. Content subscriptions are booming in South Korea. We have 10 million domestic video-on-demand subscribers and there are millions more overseas. We’ve chosen to prioritize guest-focused TV casting to attract travelers and encourage loyalty.”
Outcome
Hotel management are confident they’ve chosen a guest entertainment solution that will attract business, increase guest satisfaction, and boost loyalty guest business. By identifying an in-room service that makes the most of the content subscription boom, they say Nomadix Casting differentiates their guest experience.
