Angie joins AHLA’s Safe Stay Initiative

We are pleased to announce our support of the American Hotel & Lodging Association’s (AHLA) Safe Stay Initiative, an industry-wide program that encourages a safe reopening of hotels nationwide and throughout the world. Angie Hospitality by Nomadix is a sponsor of the program that is helping drive new safety guidelines and standards to give guests confidence when traveling.

What is AHLA’s Stay Safe Initiative?

The Safe Stay Initiative offers training, resources, checklists and guidelines for enhanced hotel cleaning practices in response to COVID-19. Guidelines are developed and approved in line with the CDC’s best practices and cover protocols surrounding guest and employee health, employee training and responsibilities, cleaning and sanitation, and physical distancing.

Why is it important?

Safe Stay sets an important, united standard across the entire hospitality industry. It gives hotels the tools they need to keep guest and employee safety as the top priority. Guidelines are frequently updated to reflect ever-changing travel requirements and have become the industry’s go-to recommendations.

How does Angie’s technology align with their guidelines?

In their top five requirements for safe travel, the AHLA encourages guests to choose contactless. Angie in-room voice assistants, casting, app and PBX phone service allow hotels to give guests contactless options and remove over 50 touch points throughout the guest stay. For example, a guest can request to check out of the hotel through Angie, eliminating a drop-by at the front desk. Guests can also order room service or ask for additional towels to be sent up to the room – all without physical contact.

Who endorses Safe Stay?

We give Safe Stay our stamp of approval, but the initiative is also endorsed by all major U.S. hotel brands, including Accor, Hilton, Marriott International, and Wyndham Hotel Group. Hotel associations such as Asian American Hotel Owners Association (AAHOA), Hospitality Technology Next Generation (HTNG), Hotel Association of Canada (HAC), along with many state and local organizations, also support AHLA’s Safe Stay. Safe Stay has garnered support from the Infectious Diseases Society of America (IDSA), the Global Business Travel Association (GBTA) and the US Travel Association.

We look forward to working with these organizations, brands and AHLA to help hotels throughout the world navigate new health and safety challenges and expectations in a post-pandemic world. By working together to provide stricter cleaning protocols, social-distanced service and touchless options, hotels can reduce exposure and instill confidence in travelers, an important piece to recovery of our industry.
